The final of the U19 Inter-Schools Division 1 Tier ‘A’ Two Day Tournament 2024/25 kicked off today at the iconic P. Sara Oval Grounds, pitting two cricketing powerhouses, Royal College, Colombo, and St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa, against each other in a battle for supremacy.
St. Sebastian’s College won the toss and elected to field first, a decision that paid dividends as their bowlers made early inroads into Royal’s batting lineup. The Royalists, known for their formidable batting, were restricted to a modest first innings total of 201 all out.

The innings saw a resilient effort from Dushen Udawela, batting at No. 8, who played a gritty knock of 46 runs off 133 balls, providing a much-needed backbone to Royal’s otherwise faltering batting effort.
The standout performers for St. Sebastian’s were Malintha Silva and Ryan Dissanayaka, who each claimed 4 wickets to dismantle Royal’s batting order.
In reply, St. Sebastian’s College began their first innings cautiously, finishing Day 1 at 20 runs for no wicket.
