Colombo Stars beat Dambulla Aura by 9 wickets in the 14th match of Lanka Premier League 2022 played today (14th December) at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Angelo Mathews, the Colombo Stars’ skipper won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Dambulla Aura had a very shocking start with the bat as they lost 7 wickets for 54 runs in the powerplay phase. Colombo new ball bowler Kasun Rajitha was at his absolute best as he bowled four overs on the bounce clinching a brilliant 5-wicket haul.
The lanky pacer picked up 5 for 22 registering his best bowling figures in T20s. The wrist-spinner Vandersay also derailed the opposition taking 2 wickets for 10 runs in his 4-over spell.
In reply, Colombo Stars lost the opening batter Dickwella in the first over of the innings, but Chandimal and Asalanka had a fine partnership for the 2nd wicket and made the powerplay count with some cracking boundaries.
Asalanka was the aggressor in the partnership as he notched up a quick half-century as Stars chased down the target in the 12th over without breaking a sweat.
