The man in red-hot form, Lahiru Udara, reached the 1000-run mark with yet another half-century, while Udara Jayasundera rendered a classy 154 runs as the final round of Super Eight matches in the SLC Major League began today.

Lahiru Udara scored a quick 66 runs opening the innings for Nondescripts Cricket Club in their game against Colts Cricket Club. The right-hander had been prolific in the recent past as he becomes the only man to go past the 1000-run mark this season. His last 6 first-class innings read as, 66, 111, 90, 93, 105, 70. NCC Skipper Angelo Perera struck a timely ton to give NCC a head start in the game.

The spin duo of Colts CC, Prabath Jayasuriya and Dilruwan Perera, picked up 4 wickets each to rally for NCC. Dilruwan also became just the fifth Sri Lankan bowler to pick up 800 first-class wickets. 

Former Test Captain Dinesh Chandimal rode high in his soldier boots as he brought up his third hundred of the season. SL Army Sports Club are playing Saracens Sports Club as their final fixture in the tournament. Ashan Randika continued his fine form with another blistering knock of 63 runs, while Pathum Dilshan supported Chandimal with a well-made 67 runs.

Ragama Cricket Club got off to a flying start in their game against Burgher Recreation Club. Opener Lahiru Thirimanne and No. 3 Udara Jayasundera got off to a humungous 305-run partnership to set the stage for Ragama CC. Udara Jayasundera remained unbeaten at the crease with 154 runs, while Thirimanne perished at a delicious 140 runs. 

The champions were having an off-day in their last game as the entire Colombo Cricket Club team were undone for 287 runs. Lasith Abeyrathne was the top-scorer with 68 runs. Left-arm spinner Nimesh Vimukthi wad the man in charge of the assault for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club,  as he recorded a fifer. Asitha Fernando, the only fast bowler in the top-five wicket-takers list, added 3 more scalps to his tally.
