More new records on Day 2

On day 2 of the 51st Junior John Tarbat Athletic Championship, multiple relay event records were renewed to go with a 200m event record, which ended as a tie.

In the under 12 Boys 100×4 Relay event, St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa reigned supreme with a new meet record of 54.5 seconds.

In the same event, St. Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa walked out with the wins in the Under 13 Boys and Under 14 Boys races, registering timings of 51.4 seconds and 47.8 seconds respectively to smash the meet records.

Ambagamuwa Central College renewed a new meet record in the Under 15 Girls 100×4 Relay event, registering a time of 51.6 seconds.

The only individual record to be broken on day 2 was the Under 13 Boys Championship record, as Y. T. Jayasuriya renewed it with some stellar performances. A. C. Dewmini of Vijayapura Kanishta Vidyalaya was crowned the winner of the Under 14 Girls Long Jump event with a jump of 4.93m.

n the Under 12 Girls category of the same event, Senuli Methlini of Holy Family Convent bagged first place with a distance of 4.44m.
