47th National Age Group Swimming Championships 2023

Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo and St. Joseph’s College, Colombo became the back-to-back Champions at the 47th National Age Group Swimming Championships 2023, with a total of 261 and 528 points respectively. Ladies College and the Peterites ended up as the Runners-up in the championship.

The competition came to an end yesterday evening, even amidst difficult weather conditions throughout the 4 days, with slight changes in the timelines.

The 47th National Age Group Swimming Championships is the highest platform for the best swimmers in 6 age categories from Under 11 to Open, for competing against each other. Accordingly, 12 individual Champions were recognized according to their individual scores and records.

  • Girls Under 11 – Elisha Samuel from The British School in Colombo
  • Boys Under 11 – Deehen Alvitigala from Lyceum International School Nugegoda
  • Girls Under 13 – K. K. Dilushi Dilshara from Lyceum International School Wattala
  • Boys Under 13 – K. A. Akalanka Nisal from St. Joseph’s College and Tharuka Ashan from St. Peter’s College
  • Girls Under 15 – Vandani Fernando from Kalutara Balika Vidyalaya
  • Boys Under 15 – Okitha Gunasekara from Elizabeth Moir School
  • Girls Under 17 – Buddima Samadi from Defence Service College
  • Boys Under 17 – M. F. Muhammad from Zahira College
  • Girls Under 20 – Hiruki De Silva from Gateway College, Colombo
  • Boys Under 20 – Chris Pavithra from St. Peter’s College
  • Open Women – Ramudi Samarakoon from Killer Whale Aquatics
  • Open Men – Sevin Chathmin from St. Joseph’s College
