Dinesh Chandimal, Sri Lanka’s new ODI captain and exciting young batting star Dhananjaya De Silva stroked match-winning knocks for their respective firms in the 26th Singer-MCA Premier League tournament on Sunday.
The P. Sara Oval hosted an important, traditional fixture between Dimo and Hayleys. Batting first, Dimo posted a decent 215 by means of Dinesh Chandimal, who top scored with 89.
Left arm paceman Binura Fernando was ecstatic with his line and length picking 3 wickets for just 14 runs. Chanaka Ruwansiri and left arm spinner Prabath Jaysuriya returned figures of 3 for 43 and 2 for 45 respectively.
Hayleys were off to a disciplined start once again but were reckless with the bat as they lost wickets at crucial intervals. Ron Chandragupta was the anchor in the Hayleys batting line up posting an unbeaten 68 as they stumbled at 163 for the loss of 7 wickets in the 40th over.
With 42 runs more required a tough ask was ahead of Chandragupta in the final 10 overs. The nerves of Chandragupta got the better of him as the rest of the tail was rattled up for 171. Kavishka Anjula, Matheesha Perera and Sammu Ashan picked up 2 wickets each for Dimo.

Dhananjaya’s All-round performance leads LB Finance to victory
LB Finance continued their winning ways after they destroyed MAS Silueta in a wonderful all-round performance at the Colts Cricket Club.
After winning the toss, MAS Silueta chose to field first. Sri Lankan top order batsmen Dhananjaya De Silva gave LB Finance a fantastic start with the bat scoring a valiant 72, but it was Sahan Arachchige who finished off the LB Finance innings in style whilst being unbeaten on 66. Dushan Hemantha ended up with figures of 3/35 with his leg spin with some support from Buddhika Sanjeewa who picked up 2 wickets for 56 runs.
MAS Silueta were not off to the best of starts as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Sangeeth Cooray and Angelo Emmanuel were the only two batsmen who showed some intent with the bat. Dhanajaya De Silva was once again impressive with the ball this time around picking two wickets whilst left arm leg spinner Angelo Perera picked up 3 wickets for 25. MAS Silueta were bowled out in the 45th over of the match for 155.

Hasaranga & Madushanka continue to carry out finishing duties
After a comprehensive win over Kanrich Finance on Saturday, Teejay Lanka took on Commercial Credit at the Surrey Cricket ground in Maggona.
Batting first Teejay Lanka were able to only post 206 before they were bowled out in the 48th over. Lasith Croospulle was the only batsman who showed some class with a bat on his way to 58, as the rest of the Teejay Lanka batsmen were troubled with a spectacular display of bowling by Chamika Karunaratne and Asitha Fernando.
Chasing a target of 207 Commercial Credit were off to a decent start, but once again it was Wanindu Hasaranga and Lahiru Madushanka who took them pass the line in the 39th over.
Both batsmen were unbeaten on 73 and 34 respectively. In the bowling department Sachithra Serasinghe picked up two wickets whilst left arm china-man Lakshan Sandakan picked up two wickets.
