22 Sri Lankan players have registered for the draft of the 2nd edition of ‘The Hundred’ franchise tournament which will be held in England.
In total 284 overseas players from 16 countries registered for the Draft, 22 of them are Sri Lankans. The leg-spinning all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has registered under the category worth £50,000. The Sri Lankan batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa has also entered the draft in the same category.
Former Sri Lankan all-rounder Thisara Perera and Sri Lanka white-ball skipper Dasun Shanaka have registered for the category worth a reserve price of £40,000.
Apart from them, Dinesh Chandimal, Niroshan Dickwella, Minod Bhanuka, Ashen Bandara, Danushka Gunathilake, Lasith Embuldeniya, Avishka Fernando, Asela Gunaratne, Lahiru Kumara, Binura Fernando, Suranga Lakmal, Lahiru Madushanka, Ramesh Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, Kasun Rajitha, Lakshan Sandakan, Dushan Hemantha and Isuru Udana have entered the draft under the category with no reserve price.
The player draft has been scheduled to be held behind closed doors on 05th April. The second edition of ‘The Hundred’ competition will be played from 03rd August to 03rd September in England.
