The 17-year old Jaffna fast bowler Kugadas Mathulan has joined Chennai Super Kings as net bowler ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024.
Mathulan who has a bowling action similar to Sri Lanka legendary fast bowler Lasith Malinga stole the limelight when a video went viral on Social Media of his bowling action during the recently concluded 117th Battle of the North Big Match between Jaffna Central College and St. John’s College, Jaffna.

Mathulan represented St. John’s College in this encounter and the youngster bowled with a slingy action very similar to Malinga.

Following this viral video, it was reported that CSK skipper MS Dhoni wanted to have a look at the youngster, therefore he was invited by the franchise to work with them as a net bowler. Mathulan is currently in Chennai and under the observance of CSK’s coaching staff.
