U15 Cricket – Richmond College romp into the semi-final

Richmond College, Galle recorded a convincing win over St. Anthony’s College, Wattala to book their place in the semi-final of the all island under 15 division 1 limited over cricket tournament 2015.

Richmond College winning the toss and making first use of the wicket at the St. John’s grounds in Panadura managed to reach a respectable 237 all out with Akash Kavindha (62) and Raveesha Abishek(54) making well composed half centuries.

Richmond could not capitalise on their good start with the bat as the Anthonian bowlers fought back towards the latter part of their innings with Supun Jayasanka being the main destroyer ending up with 4 wickets. He got good support from Kavishka Fernando who also picked up 2 wickets.

In reply, St. Anthony’s College, Wattala managed to muster only 153 runs handing a comprehensive 84 run victory to the boys from Galle.

Sugeeth Nimnada and Adithya Siriwardena were the chief destroyers with the ball as they picked up 7 wickets between them for Richmond College.
