Lahiru Madushanka’s five wicket haul secured an easy first innings victory and the U15 Provincial title for Western South-Outer. 

Western Central was bundled out for just 148 runs today due to some brilliant bowling performance by Western South Outer. Play resumed on day 2 with Western South-Outer in a demanding position with 299 runs on board with two wickets in hand. They added only 3 runs more before they declared their innings. 

Western Central came into bat with a mammoth task ahead of them. They started off badly with two batsmen back in the hut for just 29 runs. Opening batsman Chamath Yatawara played a fighting knock for his team while wickets tumbled on the other end. With Chamath’s departure for a well made 41, Western Central Collapsed. They lost wickets at regular intervals which did not help their cause. Lahiru Madushanka played a key role in the bowling department for Western South-Outer which allowed them to clean up those opponents for just 148 runs. Lahiru ended with top figures of 5 for 41. Vihanga Gunaratne took 2 wickets for 11 runs. 

Western South-Outer came on to bat in the third session of 2nd days Play. With the win under their belt, they went on their merry way to post 105 runs for the loss of 1 wicket before stumps. Kamil Minhara top scored with an unbeaten 53. It was a good all round performance by the Western South-Outer boys and they were crowned deserving champions of the tournament.
