The U-15 Division C Basketball tournament will end today with victors being crowned for the first time after two long years. Maliyadeva Balika Kurunegala and Gateway International College Kandy have already booked their place in the final after having to face two tough semi-final matches.
In the first semi-final which was played, Maliyadeva Balika played CIS Kandy. The game heated up during a tight first quarter but the girls from Kandy fell apart in the latter part of the second quarter, letting the Maliyadeva girls capitalize on their mistakes and increase their lead. The game ended 66 points to 44 at the end of the allocated 4 quarters.

The second semi-final was between Gateway College Kandy and HFC Wennappuwa. This turned out to be a mouth-watering match for the spectators present at the courts as both teams got the upper hand at certain points of the game. However, at the end of the 4 quarters it was 53 points to 44 in favour of Gateway.
Gateway College Kandy will now face Maliyadeva Balika Kurunegala today at the De Mazenood basketball courts at 4 pm in the evening while the consolation final will be played at 2.30 pm with HFC wennapuwa taking on CIS Kandy.
