West Indies ‘A’ right- hander Sunil Ambris stars against Sri Lanka ‘A’ in the 1st unofficial Test second day which played at Trelawny Stadium.

The West Indies ‘A’ commenced their day two with the overnight batters, Sunil Ambris (62*) and Vishual Singh (58*) handing them a solid platform to a formidable 1st innings total.

The pair moved on from where they left in the opening day and managed to guide the hosts to 364/8 in 120 overs. The action went on only for 43.5 overs due to poor weather at Trelawny Stadium.

The right-hander Sunil Ambris hit 12 boundaries for his sparkling 156 ball 106 that gave them the upper hand. His partner Vishual Singh was the anchor man as he stroked 81 runs off 219 balls.

The pair put on 136 for the 5th wicket and right-arm seamer Asitha Fernando gave the Lankans the breakthrough in the second day trapping Singh plumb in front.

Left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara was the pick of the bowlers as he ended with 106 for 3 in his 36 overs, while energetic right-arm seamer Chamika Karunarathne chipped in with 2/61 in 21 overs.

Match will continue today for day three.
