Army made 456/9 in their 2nd innings dominating the whole day in their encounter against Saracens SC, but Saracens walked away with vital first innings points after making 516 in reply to Army’s 356 all-out.

Dushan Vimukthi’s golden run of form continued as he notched another century while Asela Gunaratne, returning to domestic cricket, made a solid half century.

Chamikara Edirisinghe ended with six wickets in the match for Saracens while right arm quick Ranitha Liyanarachchi chipped in with two wickets in the second innings.

NCC vs SSC

Angelo Perera became only the second cricketer ever – after Englishman Arthur Fagg in 1938 – to hit twin double centuries in a single first class match, but it went in-vain as SSC secured first innings points in their encounter against NCC.

Perera’s second innings 231 came off just 268 balls, while it contained 20 fours and 3 sixes.

NCC would eventually go on to make 579/6, with Chathuranga de Silva and Pathum Nissanka also hitting swashbuckling centuries.

Fast bowlers Dhammika Prasad and Chathupama Gunasinghe captured two wickets apiece for SSC, who secured vital first innings points on day three.

Colts vs Tamil Union

A fighting century from Manoj Sarathchandra made sure Colts had to be satisfied with first innings points in their match against Tamil Union.

After Sangeeth Cooray’s unbeaten 90* set Tamil Union 552 for an outright win, Tamil Union ended the day on 331/8.

Jeevan Mendis, Ramith Rambukwella and Kamindu Mendis also made half centuries for Tamil Union.

Right arm off-spinner Nalin Priyadarshana impressed with a four wicket haul for Colts returning figures of 4/95, but it wasn’t enough to push Colts for a much deserved outright victory.
