Five matches of the Sri Lanka Cricket Premier League – Tier A Tournament ended today while the encounter between Saracens and Baduraliya began today(16).

Saracens vs Badureliya

Saracens SC dominated the first day’s play of their encounter against Baduraliya Sports Club.

Milinda Siriwardena stole the limelight with a swashbuckling century as he remained unbeaten on 144* to set them up for a big first innings score.

Buddhika Sanjeewa and Alankara Asanka picked up two wickets apiece for Baduraliya SC as Saracens ended the day on 286/5.

Ragama CC recorded a vital first innings win against Moors Sports Club as their encounter ended in a draw.

Three Ragama CC batsmen went on to make centuries as they posted a mammoth 497 for 9 declared securing the first innings win.

While top order batsman Supeshala Jayathilaka and Akshu Fernando made centuries, fast bowling all rounder Ishan Jayarathne hit his maiden first class century ending up with an unbeaten 123.

Army SC vs Tamil Union

The match between Army SC and Tamil Union ended in a high scoring draw with the latter taking major honors.

Tamil Union made 481/4 declared in reply to Army SC’s 386 in their first innings. While Lahiru Milantha hit a century on day two, skipper Tharanga Paranavithana hit an unbeaten century on the final day to guide his team to a first innings win.

NCC vs Chilaw Marians

A brave unbeaten 79* by N.Vimukthi made sure NCC had to be satisfied with first innings points against Chilaw Marians.

Upul Tharanga and Chathuranga de Silva hit half centuries in quick time as NCC declared their innings on 241/5.

Chilaw Marians batted out of their skins to make 315/9 as RV Gomez, Oshada Fernando and Thikshila de Silva also made half centuries.

Chathuranga de Silva completed a fine all-round performance as he captured five second innings wickets but was unable to bowl NCC to an outright victory.

Ashen Silva’s century went in-vain as Negombo CC fell short by 67 runs off a first innings win against a much fancied CCC outfit.

Malinda Pushpakumara continued to torment oppositions as he added another five wicket haul while Dilshan Munaweera and Lahiru Gamage chipped in with two wickets apiece.
