Royal Juniors cruise to victory at Nittawela

1382

Royal College was the far superior side at Nittawela this evening as they managed to run past the homeboys St. Anthony’s College in the 2nd match of the season.

Both the U14 and U16 matches ended up being one-way traffic as Royal scored heavily, eventually St. Anthony’s College ended up without a single point.

After crushing Kingswood for 33 nil and 32 nil in the opening game, the Royalists came positively to the Hill Country. From the beginning, Royal put on a brilliant show keeping 80% possession of the ball.  However, Antonians didn’t let the Royalists easily pass over their defense. They committed some brilliant tackles in order to reduce the Royalists Attack.

Antonians managed to make few turnovers but their handling was scrappy as there were so many knock-ons and loose passes which Royal capitalized on without hesitation.

However the Royalists were dominant in the a scrums as their forwards were way better than the Antonia forwards. Royal wings performed really well and once again they proved that they are best in the business. Somehow the Antonians managed to reduce the heavy try fall which they didn’t expect from Royalists.

Finally Royal ended up as the winners at the end of the day and managed to stay unbeaten at the end of the second week of schools rugby.
