The under 17 Singer Cup which is well underway saw a lot of drawn games due to the wet weather in Sri Lanka. However, there were a couple of first inning wins by Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa and Devapathiraja College, Rathgama.
Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa won first innings points against Nalanda College, Colombo in Moratuwa and Devapathiraja College, Rathgama did the same against Vidyaloka College, Galle at Rathgama.
Another highlight of the matches was Ashan Fernando of Prince of Wales, who scored a magnificent century against Nalanda College. Apart from the century, Ashan Fernando also grabbed 2 wickets. In another match between Holy Cross, Kalutara and Sri Pragnananda College, Sheron Fonseka and Shalika Kasun scored 131 and 112 respectively in a performance that dominated the opposition bowling.
