Police Sports Club have signed up emerging Fijian club representative Emosi Vunivosa ahead of the Dialog Rugby League that will kick off in a fortnight.

The 20-year-old arrived in the country this morning and is set to commence training with the Police squad shortly.

The aggressive backs player, Vunivosa came to the spotlight after his stint with the Fiji Rugby Under 20 side that participated in the 2016 World Rugby Oceania U20 qualifiers.

Playing as either wing three-quarter and flyhalf, the young islander has completed successful stints with his hometown club in Fiji, Naitasiri and later the Highlanders.

Getting his first breakthrough in Club rugby, Vunivosa played for the Condamine Cods in the Wagners Wellcamp Risdon Cup in Queensland where the winger showed exceptional class in the wing position.

Under the new direction from Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR), local clubs that finished in the bottom four in the Dialog Rugby League last season were given the opportunity to recruit players from overseas.

The other bottom tier clubs, CR & FC, Air Force and Army are also on the lookout for overseas players with less than two weeks to go for kick off.

As per the regulation, only one overseas player can take the field at one time for each team.
