It were the young Thomians however who started the game off in commanding fashion and it quickly paid off when they broke through for their first try of the game early on. The Wesleyites struggled in the first half, with a majority of their attacks being quickly cut short by the strong Thomian defence. S. Thomas’ juniors stayed strong however and they ended the first half with a 07-00 lead

Wesley attempted to mount a comeback early in the second half when they displayed good attacking play. The young Thomians held on defensively however, and eventually reasserted their dominance when they broke for their second converted try at full time.

The Double Blues managed a single try but failed to convert. The young Thomians had no such problems after some good passing led to both their tries which they successfully converted.

The young Double Blues fought bravely  in the second half as they tried to comeback from behind, but to no avail. The young Thomians broke through on two more occasions for two unconverted tries.
