Janali Manamperi, who emerged Girls’ U-14 Singles winner of the ongoing Colombo Tennis C’ships, plays a forehand drive in the event’s final yesterday.
St. Peter’s College schoolboy and Sri Lanka coloursman in the prestigious Davis Cup, Nishangan Nadaraja, clinched the Boys’ Under-18 Singles title, convincingly beating Dhanushka Abeywardena 6-0, 6-1 in the event’s final on Thursday, July 18. That was at the Colombo Championships Tennis, being held at the SLTA Playing section clay courts in Colombo.
Meanwhile in the Girls’ U-14 Singles, Janali Manamperi of Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, got the better of Anika Seneviratne 6-1, 6-2 in their finals also played on Thursday.
