Lyceum International School, Nugegoda and Lyceum International School, Wattala were crowned joint champions at the recently concluded Under 17 Inter-International Cricket tournament which was organized by Wycherly International School, Colombo held at the Shalika and Health Grounds.
Lyceum International School, Wattala played British School, Stafford International School and Gateway College, Kandy in the preliminary rounds.
Lyceum Wattala faced off against CIS Colombo in the quarter finals with CIS batting first and being bowled out for a paltry 72 in 24.1 overs. In reply Lyceum Wattala scored 75 runs in 4 overs. In the semi-finals Lyceum Wattala played against OKI Wattala, Lyceum Wattala batting first were bowled out for 117 in 26 overs and in return bowled out OKI for 68 runs in 25.1 overs.
In the Finals scheduled between Lyceum Wattala and Lyceum Nugegoda, due to bad weather the final match could not be played and the teams were named Joint Champions.
Lyceum Wattala became Champions for the 03rd consecutive year.
Special Awards for the Best Batsman/Player of the Tournament was awarded to Sahbiq Ifthary and Best Bowler award went to Jeevithan Mageshwaran.
