Layton cup to be worked off in August

The Layton cup boxing meet organized by the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) will be held from the 2nd to the 6th of August 2016 at the Royal MAS arena with the finals commencing from 4.00pm onwards on the final day of competition.

Layton cup is an exclusive meet where only the experienced pugilists will exchange blows since Schools, Junior and Youth meets will NOT be considered as qualification meets for the tournament and no fresher will be allowed to participate. Boxers who have already taken part in major meets before or Winners/Runners up at the ABA Novices, Intermediates, Stubbs Shield Meets and winners of Junior Nationals Boxing Meets are qualified to take part in this meet.

Competition will be held in the following weight categories;

The Men’s bouts will consist of three rounds of three minutes while each Women’s bout will consist of four rounds of two minutes. There will be a one minute interval between each round.
