The Sri Lanka Schools Boxing Team is set to tour India to participate in a multi-national training program organized by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI). 

The training program will be held from 24th March to 04th April in the Haryana state in India. 13 Sri Lankan male boxers and 12 female boxers were supposed to participate in this programme, but with the intervention of Dian Gomes, the chairman of Sri Lanka Boxing Association, 28 Sri Lankan boxers (male and female) in the junior national boxing pool have been allowed to take part in this programme.

Wasantha Kumara, the vice president of Sri Lanka Boxing Association who played a pivotal role in developing the national junior boxing squad, and T. B. Jamitha Gayan, the secretary of Sri Lanka Schools Boxing Association have also made significant contributions to the success of this programme.
