Last week’s opening game of the Dialog Rugby League that involved Havelock Sports Club and CH & FC saw Havelock’s Kevin Dixon being taken off the ground following an injury to his jaw.

The Sri Lankan national cap, Dixon who was playing in the wing position for Havelock Sports Club sustained an injury to his jaw when he went out to tackle an incoming CH & FC player in their defensive 5 meter line.

The medical staff who were quick to react on that occasion made sure that the initial precautions were taken and he was later hospitalized.

The former Peterite was stretchered off the field in the 46th minute of play, after a quick inspection by the doctor who instructed Dixon to be taken to the hospital immediately.

Dixons injury proves to not only be a huge blow to the Havelock SC  but also to his rugby career, as he underwent a surgery which will keep him off the rugby field for a minimum of three months. With Dixons absence in the future, Havelock SC will have to start with Ramesh Fernando and Chamara Dabare to fill in Dixons place.

Dixon’s absence will be clearly felt in the Havelock side in the coming few weeks.

ThePapare.com wishes Dixon a speedy recovery and expects to see him back in the playing field soon.
