Trinity vs Kingswood

Trinity have made it to four wins out of five games in the Dialog Schools Rugby League 2022, seeing off a lackluster Kingswood outfit for an emphatic 53 (9T, 4C) – 06 (2P) win at Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekelle on Saturday.

The hosts came out with all guns blazing in their own backyard and led 7-0 before they had even laid a single tackle, and steadied well when Kingswood finally brought the challenge.

Kingswood took advantage of two penalties which were very kickable at close range, making it 7-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Trinity, however, dominated the scrum and the physicality factor, steamrolling over for two more tries before the half-time whistle. Both tries came off some lovely handling from the backs, who ran havoc in the far corner off the field.

Half-time – Trinity 19 (3T 2C) – 06 (2P) Kingswood

After the lackluster first half, Trinity came out all guns blazing in the second half as they managed to score 6 tries in the second half to none from Kingswood.

Forward Kaveesha Edama played his game of the season with a steady and dominant scrum to add to two try assists as well.

Trinity started things off with the forwards, steam rolling over the line in the opening quarter of the second half.

However, their backs joined the party with four more tries. All four tries came off beautifully worked offloads by their back three and Kaveesha Edama.

Trinity played with much flare even without some of their key players as well. Trinity surely missed Kovida Wickramasinghe’s experience as they left 5 conversions on the kicking tee.
