Hameed Al Husseinie kicked off proceeding and almost scored in the first minute with a through ball from midfield that found Dinesh Suren open on goal. Goalkeeper Mohamed Riflan was out in a flash to block the attempt.

Immediately after it was the Gampola boys who went on the attack and found them self in attacking possessions.

Both teams looked to attack in every opportunity which was really encouraging and appreciated by the spectators.

Mohamed Afkar then got an opportunity with a header just outside the 6 yard box from a lovely cross from Tuan Nadheer in the 20th minute which would have been a brilliant goal if he was on target.

Basith Ahamed was the next to get an opportunity to put Gampola Zahira ahead when he was unmarked in the left side and got inside the box with his first touch. The shot at goal was palmed away by goalkeeper Mohamed Safrin for Hameed Al Husseinie.

At the half hour mark Afkar did well to take on the Zahira defender and went around easily only to hit wide off the post when he had ample time to pick a team mate inside the box.

Mohamed Aman was in a similar position minutes later once again to find the defenders feet instead of his team mate which would have been a easy tap in.

Nadheer then hit the cross bar from a beautiful chip from outside the penalty box as Gampola Zahira were let off the hook once again.

It was goal keeper Mohamed Riflan who kept his team in the game as he rushed out once again to save from Afkar who was one on one against him.

Against the run of play Mohamed Mehdi missed a sitter in front of goal as he only needed to pick a spot and place, instead he missed it completely and hit wide to the dismay of all.

Half Time – Zahira Gampola 0 – 0 Hameed Al Husseinie

In the second half both teams looked to attack on every move and it was Hameed Al Husseinie who were more exuberant in their play. Asking questions of the Gampola defense Al Husseinie advanced but goal keeper Riflan once again made crucial saves.

Gampola Zahira were left with a single striker and was not into the game as the midfielders wasted passes and gave away possession pretty frequently to Hameedia.

Mohamed Afkar put the Colombo boys ahead in the 60th minute when he went pass 2 defenders and slotted to the far post.

The build up play should have been stopped in favor of the Gampola boys as the tackle from Mohamed Aashim got him a yellow card after the goal was scored.

From there on Hameedia managed the game well and looked to keep possession and tried to play in the opposition half.

Mohamed Sarfan got a chance to kill the game 10 minutes to the end when he had a clear shot at goal from the right wing with the goalkeeper out of position but only managed to hit it wide.

The game was done and dusted when Mohamed Afkar dribbled his way in to the box and took a cross which hit Mohamed Mujahid as the referee pointed to the spot for deliberate hand ball. Mohamed Aman stepped up and converted on the second attempt.

Mohamed Nazmi was brought down in the box and referee pointed to the spot this time in favor of the Gampola boys which Basith Ahmed converted to make a intense few minutes before the long whistle.
