Commercial Credit’s Men’s and Women’s teams last Wednesday night (26 February) emerged winners in an exciting and nail-biting finale at the Mercantile 5 a side Basketball Championships at the Otters Aquatic Club, Basketball Courts.
The Men’s Team beat DFCC Bank by 23 points to 20 to emerge winners while the Women’s Team beat Hatton National Bank by 28 points to 17 to emerge winners.
The Men’s Team comprises Gayan De Croos (Captain), Kanishka, Gayan, Harshadewa, Sanitha and Sudesh.
The Women’s Team comprises Sulochana (Captain), Prasadi, Kaushika, Kunchana, Vindya, Sandunika, Dewni, Sanduni and Thushani.
Both teams are coached by Panduka Ranasinghe.
This significant dual victory by Commercial Credit’s Men’s and Women’s teams has been hailed as a benchmark in basketball in Sri Lanka.
