Yorkshire have signed Sri Lanka Test Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne for the upcoming County Championship.
Karunaratne is expected to play four first-class games for Yorkshire before joining the Sri Lanka Test squad, which will face Bangladesh in a 2-match Test series in May.
Karunaratne will rejoin the county later in the summer after completing his national commitments. The 32-year old left hander had a terrific run with the Sri Lanka Test team in the last 15 months, where he aggregated 1068 runs in 9 matches with an average of 62.82.
He will be the second Sri Lankan to join County Championship in England this season after recently retired speedster Suranga Lakmal signed with Derbyshire on a two-year contract.
