WNS Colombo Aviva team was crowned as “Big Bash 2022” champions in the recently concluded inter-company cricket carnival held at Colts Cricket Club on 3rd December 2022. WNS Colombo TMF team became the runners-up.
In the prestigious final, WNS TMF team scored 37 runs in the outing limited to 2 overs due to inclement weather condition and WNS Aviva team reached the target by hitting a six in the last ball of the match. Kanish William bagged the player of the match award in the final by scoring 37 runs off just 7 balls. Jonathan Walters and Rukshini Bernard were adjudged the best players of the tournament respectively.
Overall, 16 teams participated in this intense second season of the ‘Big Bash 2022’ and as ever, it was packed with excitement and entertainment both on the pitch and off it. Three cheerleading squads from WNS Aviva, TMF and BMI performed during the later stages of the day to make the event more colorful and finally the contest was won by the Aviva TMF team. It was also an entertaining day for the children of WNS staff who had several fun activities lined up on the day.
The closing ceremony and presentation of awards were held under the kind patronage of Mr. Dinesh Wickremanayake, MD – Sri Lanka and Mr. Shanaka Fernando, Sr. General Manager – Human Resources Sri Lanka with their Senior Leadership team.
