West Indies women’s bowled an aggressive 15 overs in their T20 match played at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium this morning as Sri Lankan lasses failed to over come them.

The batting, fielding and bowling of the Windies completely overshadowed the Sri Lankan women in the 2nd of the T20 matches.

Sri Lankan team, who tasted defeat in the first match, won the toss and decided to bat first but the Windies women prevented them from making a single run in the first and the second overs. The opening batswomen Chamari Athapaththu and Lasanthi Madushani failed in a good partnership while Lasanthi missed her chance to score runs as she was removed for 0.

For the dismissal of Lasanthi, Ama Kanchana came into bat and scored 6 runs but in the third over Tremayne Smartt came to the fore. Sri Lankan lasses had no chance to score runs in front of the amazing fielding of the Windies as Chamani Athapaththu, Deepika Rasangika and Eshani Lokusooriya were beaten for 8, 8 and 9 runs.

Eshani Lokusooriya an innovator possessed by the Sri Lankan team had time to score runs but Subriana Munroe managed to defeat her by catching what was a near six. Captain Shshikala Siriwardane  added 9 runs and was beaten by the counterparts on her way for another run in the 15th over.
