Wesley College, Colombo continued their impressive run of form, taking honors in two consecutive drawn encounters in the U19 Division I Two-Day Cricket Tournament 2025/26.
In the Tier B encounter against St. Joseph Vaz College, played at St. Sebastian’s College Grounds, Katuneriya, Wesley College managed to take first innings points in the drawn game which saw a nail-biting finish.
Lithum Senuja top-scored with a well-compiled 54, while Methnula Mayadunna (5/47) and Adhyaan Zian (4/54) starred with the ball. Despite a superb effort from Damesh Mathishan, who claimed a match bag of 10 wickets for 75 runs for St. Joseph Vaz College, the game ended in a draw with Wesley holding the upper hand.
In their following traditional encounter against Prince of Wales’ College at Wesley College Grounds, Colombo, the hosts once again managed to take honors in a drawn game.
Methnula Mayadunna and Anuk Peiris impressed with the bat, both scoring fine half-centuries, while Dinuja Samararathna stood out with a disciplined bowling effort. For the visitors, Nethul Anuhas was the pick of the bowlers, capturing 5 wickets for 96 runs.
