Veteran J M D Indika’s closing round of 70, helped him collect the 3rd place prize. Nonetheless, the surprise package was the emergence of Taniya Minel Balasuriya, shooting a cracking two under par 69, the second best card of the day, playing alongside the Men from the Championship Tee Boxes, with extra yardage.

The tough ‘pocket –rocket’ Taniya Minel, showed great character for one so young, holding her nerve to shoot a solid 69, next best on the last day to the winner Sisira Kumara’s six under par 65, securing 11th place in the February edition of the LECTRA SRI LANKA GOLF GRAND PRIX 2019, concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club Course.
