High jumper Udantha Bandara and sprinter Shanika Fernando both from Gateway College Colombo were adjudged as best male and female athlete of the Inter- International School Athletics championship (ISAC) 2014 concluded at Sugathadasa Stadium yesterday.
Lyceum International school, Wattala emerged overall champion of the meet with 854 points. Gateway College Colombo finished second with 677.83 points and Lyceum International Nugegoda finished third with 579 points.
Udantha Bandara who jumped 1.98 m in the boys under 19 high jump event was adjudged as male performer of the championship.
Shanika Fernando won the best female award for her performance of 13.0 seconds in the girls under 19 100m event and she was also adjudged as champion athlete of the under 19 girls with 30 points.
Gihan de Soyza of Lyceum –Wattala was adjudged as champion athlete of under- 19 boys’ category with 33 points. Ruwanthi Fernandiz of Gateway College was adjudged as champion athlete in the under-20 girls’ category with 30 points. Aadil Farried of Lyceum-Wattala was adjudged as best male athlete of the under-20 boys’ category with the same number of points.
