The traditional encounter between Royal College and Thurstan College ended in a draw today (27th April) at Reid Avenue in Colombo.

Royal College declared their first innings at 206/4 allowing Thurstan College to begin their second innings 92 runs behind.

Thurstan College showed a much better batting display in the second innings as they posted 287 runs for 9 wickets before declaring the innings setting a target of 196 for Royal College to win.

Tharindu Harshana top-scored for Thurstan College with a brilliant 96 runs off 199 balls with 11 fours. The left arm spinner Gishan Balasooriya impressed with the ball for Royal College with a 5-wicket haul.

Chasing 196 runs to win, Royal College posted 83/2 at the close of play on day two. Uvindu Weerasekara made unbeaten 50 runs off 54 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 92.59.
