St. Joseph’s College registered their 2nd win of the tournament as they defeated St. Thomas College by 7 wickets today. Sri Lanka U19 capped Shevon Daniel’s eye-catching 66-ball 72 runs which included 4 fours and 5 sixes was the highlight of the match.

Sakuna Nidarshana who played for Sri Lanka U19s in the recently concluded ICC U19 World Cup, played a brilliant ton representing Lumbini College but he couldn’t guide his team over the finishing line as Isipathana College recorded a 15-run victory.

Nidarshana who stroked 104 runs off 108 balls with 13 fours and 3 sixes was in full flow with the bat for Lumbini College. Randunu Ganganath (39), Tharusha Nethsara (36), Kevin Samuel (2/28) and Sithuka Gunawardana (2/30) were the chief architects of Isipathana’s victory.

Meanwhile, St. Anthony’s College completely dominated their encounter against strong S. Thomas’ College defeating them by 7 wickets. It was all about Antonian Chamindu Wickramasinghe’s all-round skills as he delivered with both bat and ball registering a match-winning half-ton while picking up a 4-wicket haul.

The all-round skills of Ashen De Soyza guided St. Benedict’s College to a 16-run win over St. Sebastian’s College. De Soyza’s blistering knock of 72 runs off 57 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes set up the victory for Bens which was followed by a match-winning spell of 3 wickets for 25 runs.
