The traditional encounter between Ananda College and Prince of Wales College commenced today (09th June) at Ananda College Grounds in Colombo.

Having won the toss, the visiting Prince of Wales College team put on a very impressive batting display posting a commanding total of 328 runs for their first innings.

The Cambrian opening batter Tharindu Amarasingha stroked a magnificent century for the visitors scoring 173 runs off 133 balls with 23 fours and 5 sixes at an impressive strike rate of 130.08.

Shakthi Udara was the pick of the bowlers for Ananda College as he bagged 6 wickets for 102 runs. Ananda College also replied with the bat in a rapid pace as they made 70 runs for 2 wickets in 13 overs at stumps on day one.
