Another couple of 2-day matches in the U19 Schools Cricket Tournament were held today in Colombo & Kandy.

Pulindu Perera and M. C. Rajakaruna scored fifties as the Rajans posted 208 runs for their 1st innings. However, there was a splendid response from the St. Aloysius’ batters as they declared their 1st innings on 332/9 with Induwara Udena, Charya Paranavithana and Dineth Nimsara scoring valuable half-centuries.

Dharmaraja College started their 2nd innings with a 124-run shy, but they were blown away for 106 runs to give St. Aloysius’ an innings victory courtesy of Kalana Pathum’s fifer.

S. Thomas’ College posted 285/9d with Nathan Caldera scoring a sensational 113, while Muditha Dissanayake picked a fifer. In reply, St. Joseph’s College were able to get only 166 runs, with all 10 wickets belonging to the Thomian spinners, led by Charuka Peiris, who got 4 for 27.

Somehow, St. Joseph’s College batted well in the 2nd innings with the Skipper Sadeesh Jayawardene scoring 78. They were 197/4 when the match ended in a draw on day 2.
