Manula Kularathna’s all-round skills helped Trinity College take the upper hand on day one against Gurukula College in their Tier ‘A’ Two Day encounter that began today (15th December) at Asgiriya International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
After been put into bat first Trinity College posted 256/8 in 70 overs before declaring their innings. Supun Waduge and Manula Kularathna starred with the bat scoring 57 & 43 runs respectively for the hosts.
In reply, the boys from Kelaniya were in deep trouble losing 4 quick wickets for just 25 runs in 9.2 overs. Kularathna who showcased his skills with the bat earlier in the day picked up 2 wickets for 7 runs.

Meanwhile, Isipathana College managed to take honors in the drawn traditional encounter against Prince of Wales College. Themiya Gunarathne’s all-round skills caught the eyes of the crowds at Colts Grounds in Colombo.
Gunarathne picked up a match bag of 9 wickets with the ball while scoring an unbeaten century with the bat for Isipathana College.
