Malsha Tharupathi’s 6-fer helped Richmond College take the upper hand on day one against Nalanda College in their Tier ‘A’ Two Day Encounter, which began today (12th December) at SLAOC International Cricket Stadium, Dombagoda.

After been put into bat first, Nalanda College were restricted to just 158 runs thanks to the brilliant bowling performance from Richmond seamer Tharupathi, who bagged 6 wickets for 45 runs.

The Tier ‘B’ Two Day Encounter between Lumbini College and St. Thomas College commenced today at Colts Grounds, Colombo. Having been asked to bat first, Lumbini College posted only 171 runs as Pathum Malith ripped through the opposition batting lineup, picking up 5 wickets for 35 runs.

Chanaka Jananga (3/49) and Senith Halambage (2/26) also starred with the ball, picking up the remaining 5 wickets. In reply, Dharmasoka College posted 28 for no loss at stumps on day one.

The half-centuries from Sandaru Theekshana and Jeewaka Shashen put Devapathiraja College in the driving seat on day one of their traditional encounter against St. Thomas College, which began today at Uyanwatta Stadium, Matara. Having won the toss, the lads from Rathgama posted 230/3 in 62 overs at stumps on day one.
