Sanjana Senavirathna of Moratu Maha Vidyalaya stole the limelight on Day 1 of their Tier B encounter in the U19 Inter-Schools Division 1 Two-Day Cricket Tournament 2025/26 against St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala, held at Moratuwa.
Senavirathna produced a brilliant century, scoring 111 runs off 143 balls with 16 fours and 2 sixes, helping the home side post 288 runs in their first innings.

Despite the resilient effort, Sanuja Dissanayake was the pick of the bowlers for St. Anne’s College, claiming 5 wickets for 85 runs. The visitors ended Day 1 at 57 runs for 4 wickets, still trailing the hosts.
In another Tier B clash at Katuneriya, Isipathana College took on St. Sebastian’s College, Katuneriya. Asked to bat first, the home side was bowled out for 145 runs, with Menula Dambakumbura starring with a five-wicket haul.
