The under 23 Division 1 T20 tournament continued on match day 2 as a further 12 matches were played across the island. Air Force SC, Kalutara TC, Moors SC, Ragama CC, Army, Chilaw MCC, NCC, Colts CC, Tamil Union, Colombo CC, SSC, and Bloomfield registered wins.

Air Force vs Saracens

Vishwa Chathuranga’s magnificent 100 off 70 deliveries propelled Army towards a competitive 155 in their game against Saracens at the P. Sara Oval. Tharushan Iddamalgoda fought a lone battle scoring 46 but it was all too little as Saracens were dismissed for 136 and fell short by 19 runs.

Batting first Galle CC were restricted to a below par 121 all out in 19.4 overs. Rusiru Ravishanka (2/22) and Gayan Kanishka (2/23) picked up 4 wickets between them in the process of restricting Galle CC. Geeth Perera’s 32 and Ruchira Ravishanka unbeaten 30 took Kaluthara Town home in a nail biting finish sparing just 1 ball.

Irshad Umar destroyed the Centralized batting in their chase of 180 picking up 6 wickets for just 18 in his allotted quota of 4 overs.

Chasing 197 Rio SC were restricted to just 98 for 8 in 20 overs.

Nawod Samarakoon tried his best to guide the Old Thurstanites towards their target as he managed 35 unbeaten runs but they fell short by 9 runs.
