Turkmenistan will be without the services of midfielders Ruslan Mingazov and Ahmet Atayev for the clash against Sri Lanka in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualification – AFC 2nd Round.

The news was confirmed on Turkmenportal.com and will be a big blow for Turkmenistan who are to play against Sri Lanka on 5th September at the Race Course Stadium.

Midfielder of FC Irtysh (Kazakhstan) Ruslan Mingazov and midfielder of Sabah (Malaysia) Ahmet Atayev will not be able to help the national team of Turkmenistan in the September qualifying matches of the 2022 World Cup.

According to Turkmenportal, Mingazov who plays for FC Irtysh (Kazakhstan) has a tear in his groin muscle and will be out for one month. He will be replaced by Amir Gurbani in the squad.

Ahmet Atayev, has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), and will undergo surgery. He will be out for at least six months.

After their 5-day training camp in Dubai, Turkmenistan will arrive in Sri Lanka on 3rd September.
