Sri Lanka Test and ODI vice-captain Lahiru Thirimanne has been named the captain of the Sri Lanka Board President’s XI against West Indies team in the three-day warm-up game which starts on October 8th at SSC grounds.
Young opener Kusal Mendis will partner up with Ragama CC captain & Sri Lanka A team opener Udara Jayasundara while SSC wicket-keeper Minod Bhanuka will don the gloves. Last season’s highest scorer in the domestic competition, Milinda Siriwardena is also named in the 15-man squad.
Former Peterite duo, batsman Lahiru Milantha and left-arm spinner Sahan Nanayakkara also find themselves in the team.
Nuwan Kulasekara and Suraj Randiv has also been named to bolster their chances of a Test comeback.
Suranga Lakmal has also recovered from his injury which he sustained against Pakistan few months back.
