The 145th Battle of the Blues between Royal College, Colombo and S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia ended in a draw today (9th March) at SSC Grounds, Colombo.
Royal College resumed their first innings on Day 3 at 234/7 and added another 44 runs on the board before declaring the innings at 278/9. Nethwin Dharmarathne hit a vital 41 runs batting down the order for Royal College while Ashen Perera picked up a five-wicket haul for S. Thomas’ College.

S. Thomas’ College began their second innings 19 runs ahead and put another impressive batting display scoring 229 runs for 4 wickets at stumps on third and final day.
The Thomian No. 3 batter Dineth Goonewardene (74) and Skipper Mahith Perera (63) notched up brilliant half-centuries. The duo dominated the Royal bowlers, stitching together a 104-run partnership for the third wicket.
