Sylhet Strikers have roped in Sri Lankan off-spinning all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League 2023.
The 31-year-old De Silva is the 3rd Sri Lankan Cricketer to be signed by Sylhet Strikers after all-rounders Kamindu Mendis and Thisara Perera had been roped in by the franchise previously.
De Silva, who cemented his place at a vital No. 3 spot in Sri Lanka’s T20I team during the recently concluded T20 World Cup, had a decent run with the bat scoring 177 runs in 8 matches at 25.28 with a strike rate of 129.19. De Silva has represented the national team in 138 international matches (45 Tests, 60 ODIs and 33 T20Is).
The 9th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League will be held from 6th January to 16th February 2023. The 7-team competition will consist of a total of 46 matches which will be played in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
