Suspended trio arrive in Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan vice-captain Kusal Mendis, opening batsman Danushka Gunathilaka and wicket-keeper batsman Niroshan Dickwella, who were suspended for breaching the Bio-bubble in Durham, arrived in Sri Lanka today (29th).

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that the three players arrived today at 1.15 PM Sri Lankan time and were sent into a 14-day quarantine in a hotel at Negombo. 

Mendis, Dickwella and Gunathilaka recalled to Sri Lanka during the team’s tour of England and Wales have been suspended from all forms of cricket until the completion of an inquiry regarding the breach of the bio-bubble in the UK as videos surfaced of the trio on the streets of Durham late on Sunday.

Following a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of the hosts in the T20Is, the national team is currently in Durham for the first ODI which will be played today at the Emirates Riverside Grounds in Durham.
