St. Sebastian’s win 1st innings points against Wesley

St. Sebastian’s College beat Wesley College on first innings in their under 19 division one match that was played at Campbell Park on Saturday 

Winning the toss and bowling at home, Wesley College could only restrict St. Sebastian’s to a competitive 241 all out in 82.4 overs. Left-handed Muditha Fernando top scored for the visitors with 69 and Asher Warnakulasuriya scored 37. Kavishka Wickramasinghe (3/33), Charith De Silva (3/40) and Andrew Parais (3/64) all picked three wickets each for Wesley. 

Batting in their first innings Wesley was bowled out for just 186 in 75.3 overs. Andrew Parais top scored with a fighting half century 56 for Wesley. Sashika Fernando bagged six wickets for St. Sebastian’s as they managed to win the first innings points of the game.

St. Sebastian’s College displayed a strong batting effort in their second innings as they scored 164 for 1 in 32 overs. Visal Senanayaka was not out on 68* Praveen Perera was not out on 55* as the game drew to close on day 2.
