The 31st edition of the Travel Trade Sports Club’s Swimming Meet concluded on the 21st of November 2015 at the Thurstan College Pool Complex.

The meet, officiated by the Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union witnessed the defending champions fly high above the eighteen teams that participated to win the overall Men’s and Women’s championships with their aggregate of 168 points (91 points – Men’s category and 77 points – women’s category.) The team from Cinnamon City Hotels emerged runners up by accumulating 136 points – 78 points from the men’s category and 58 points from the women’s category.

With the participation of a contingent of 155 swimmers, competition took place in ninety-five events in Novices, Champions and Veterans categories for both men and women. Participants were further categorized into competing in age groups in which the championships were awarded.

By the first half of the meet, the team from Sri Lankan Airlines was already in the lead with a clear margin with their score of 67 points while Cinnamon City Hotels ranked second with 38 points and The Kingsbury ranked third with twenty four points. The runners up of last year, the combined team from Walkers and Whittals showed no sign of repeating their performance at this year’s meet.

The Chief Guest of the meet which was sponsored by Luxe Asia was the company’s Managing Director Mr. Chaminda Dias. The event was also graced by officials from the Travel Trade Sports Club Mr. Suranjith de Fonseka, Mr.  Adrian Jansz and Mr.Shan Perera.
