The forward was injured in a pre-match training session in Bangladesh, which is believed to be a knee injury. News from the Sri Lanka camp is that Zarwan will not play against India, which is a big blow for the islanders who have relied on his attacking skills and creativity heavily.
The injury looks to be serious, and will probably keep him out of the match against Maldives (7th Sep) as well. Sri Lanka Head Coach Nizam Packeer Ali will need to look at his utility players for a replacement, but Zarwan’s loss will be felt considerably.
