Venora Sri Lanka led by Ajantha Mendis thrashed South Africa Rebels by 85 runs in the final played in South Africa on Saturday.

Sri Lankan skipper won the toss and opted to bat first as Lakshan Edirisinghe smashed the ball to all parts of the grounds with an amazing 70 off 32 balls, while Sri Lankan super star Ajantha Mendis came in handy with a brisk 41 off 25 deliveries to guide the Lankans to a formidable 201/7 in 20 overs.

Chasing 202 to win, the hosts crumbled under pressure as they were restricted by quality bowling efforts by the boys from Venora Sri Lanka to keep the Africans to 116/6 in 20 overs.

The Lankan lions were unbeaten throughout the tournament winning all the games in the first round and continued their winning ways to enter the finals and clinch the tournament defeating the hosts by 85 runs.
