Resuming day two on 318 for 6, wicket-keeper batsman Niroshan Dickwella and Dananjaya added an invaluable 72 runs for the 7th wicket to help the visitors get close to a solid first innings score.

Dickwella after being 26* overnight continued to use his sweeps, behind the square cuts to amass 74 off 159 balls with 8 fours while left-handed Dananjaya slammed 6 boundaries to post 30 off 69 balls.

Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican dismissed Dickwella and Lahiru Gamage who struck three lusty sixes during his 22-run knock in the first session on day two as the Windies wrapped up the Lankan innings on 428.

In reply, West Indies President’s XI got off to a blistering start as the left-handed duo, John Campbell and skipper Kieran Powell added 98 runs in only 81 balls before the former was caught plumb in front by off-spinner Dilruwan Perera. Campbell struck at 119, collecting 11 fours in his 68-minute stay.

Powell too reached a half-century before he ran himself out for 60 runs. After being 164 for 2 at one stage, the hosts crumbled against the spin of Dananjaya and the pace of Lahiru Kumara as they were restricted to 192 for 7, losing five wickets for 28 runs.
